We have a busy month ahead here at Scorpion Vision and we’re seeing in June with a couple of fantastic trade shows. If you’re hoping to put some faces to the Scorpion Vision name, chat all things machine vision, or simply just say hello, these trade shows are great opportunities to connect.

Where to find us

On the 11th and 12th of June we’ll be exhibiting at Ignite Space, a conference organised by UK Space Agency for businesses and SMEs in the space industry and all those working with space-applicable technologies.

And on the 18th and 19th of June we’ll be at MVC, The Machine Vision Conference & Exhibition. We’re proud sponsors of MVC which is organised by UKIVA as part of Automate UK.

Ignite Space

Ignite Space will be held at the Royal Armouries Museum in Leeds, the perfect location to inspire innovation and technology.

We’re looking forward to hearing from influential speakers across the international space sector, supply chain, and government. This event will also include focus zones to hone in on topics like investment, ecosystem, and sustainability.

You can find us at the exhibition at stand 18 alongside a whole host of other SME suppliers. Come and say hello!

Machine Vision Conference

A leading trade show in the field of machine vision, the 8th annual MVC will be held at the CBS Arena in Coventry, showcasing the very best in machine vision technology.

The machine vision conference is organised by UKIVA (UK Industrial Vision Association) a leading voice of image processing technology in the UK. Along with PPMA (Processing and Packaging Machinery Association) and BARA (British Automation & Robot Association) the group represent more than 550 member companies (and we’re proudly one of them!) and regularly put on engaging events to give members the opportunity to connect and grow.

This event is industry specific, so there will be over 60 technical seminars dedicated to machine vision users and engineers. Our very own technical director, Tim Tanner will be delivering an AI seminar on retrospectively applying convolutional neural networks to improve robustness on legacy vision systems on Tuesday at 10:30 am in Theatre 1. This seminar aims to dispel the myths and showcase concrete application scenarios where classic machine vision pattern patching falls short and the integration of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) can significantly elevate system performance.

Managing Director Paul Wilson says,
“The use of neural networks retrospectively applied to our existing vision systems has had a dramatic effect on performance and robustness. If you would like to know more about how this can benefit your business, please come and chat with us.”

We look forward to discussing deep learning, artificial intelligence, machine learning and embedded vision systems. There will also be seminars on stereo vision, 3D laser profiling, pattern projection and Time-of-Flight technology. If you’re already interested and can’t wait until then, don’t panic – read our blog on Time-of-Flight technology products!

You can find us both days at stand C2, we’re looking forward to seeing you there!

It’s always beneficial to grow our connections in the industry and learn about developments from our peers. It’s a fantastic opportunity to solve problems, too. If your production line is in a pickle or you’ve got an imaging issue you’re just not sure how to fix, come and have a chat with us. We may well have the solution for you.
